Enhance Your Design School Education by Conferencing

Don't just design interiors in school. Design conferences put your interior interests in real life, non-school contexts. For interior design students - or would-be interior designers - a design conference provides a whirlwind of creative input. Here's what an interior design conference will give you:
Design Information
A large interior design conference offers opportunities for both conceptual and hands-on learning. The annual conference of the American Society of Interior Designers, for instance, included 75 speakers presenting state-of-the-art information about a broad range of residential and commercial design issues. Most conferences offer workshops, too.
Business Know-how
Design students receive the latest tips on the profession of creating interiors at conferences, honing business skills, learning management techniques and getting tips on promotion beyond what they've learned in school. The ASID conference even offers a Career Basics track for interior design students and recent graduates.
Networking Opportunities
Conferencing is socially essential for interior designers and design students. Hearing an inspirational presentation by an interior design luminary, meeting product manufacturers, and lunching with peers in the interior design community helps design students forge the connections on which their interior design careers will thrive.
Inspiration
Conferencing is a great way to ignite a student's enthusiasm for interior design, and design school provides the perfect outlet for translating those exciting conference ideas into student interior design projects.
Continuing Education Credits
Conferences provide continuing education units. For example, the "green design" conference, EnvironDesign9, offers CEUs through the American Society of Interiors Designers and the International Interior Design Association. Where credit is offered, a contact person helps design students with the application process.
