Three Texas Universities are among July’s new crop of FIDER- accredited design schools. Now, a B.S. in Interior Design from Abilene Christian University, either a B.A. or a B.S. in Family and Consumer Services from Waco’s Baylor University, or a B.F.A. from the Art Institute of Houston means you’ve got an excellent education and a valuable interior design degree.

Beautiful southwestern tile and classic Spanish ironwork influence the distinctive Tex-Mex look of Houston interior design. If you feel at home with this aesthetic, then the Art Institute of Houston’s might be for you. Up north, another FIDER-accredited program rules at the Art Institute of Dallas, an interior design powerhouse city as well as a Midwestern artistic and cultural center. Learn more about The Art Institute Online's Bachelor Degree program in Interior Design.
Also in the area, the University of Texas at Arlington offers the B.S. in Interior Design through its School of Architecture, as does TCU in Fort Worth. If a community college is more your style, you can earn an Advanced Technical Certificate in Interior Design at El Centro College. All these Dallas schools have FIDER’s stamp of approval.

Other programs accredited by the Foundation for Interior Design Education Research provide top notch interior design degrees in more laid-back settings. Split the distance between Dallas and Houston and you’re in the rolling green hills of the University of Texas at Austin, whose School of Architecture offer the B.S. in Interior Design. The Lone Star State offers a Texas-size helping of interior design schools that are both nationally ranked as campuses and FIDER-approved for their interior design degree programs. Texas Tech awards a Bachelor of Interior Design degree, and North Texas offers the B.F.A. Add Abilene Christian, Texas State at San Marcos, the University of Texas at San Antonio, and Stephen F. Austin State at Nacogdoches to the Texas interior design mix, and you'll say howdy to an interior design degree program that's tailored to fit your needs.
