Concrete. It sounds like the front walk, or maybe the garage floor. But concrete for the bath? Absolutely. With vivid custom colors and imaginative shapes, concrete sinks and countertops are hot in bathroom interior design.

Customizable Concrete

Though California's Sonoma Cast Stone makes concrete countertops, fireplace surrounds, tiles, and pavers, their gorgeous bathroom sinks resemble art more than traditional fixtures. If your specialty is residential interior design, these concrete sinks will make your imagination take flight. Best of all, the sinks (in both free-standing and countertop varieties) are customizable by color, finish, and dimensions. Welcome to no-holds barred interior design for the bathroom.

Beautiful Basins

Sonoma Cast Stone's concrete basins have a folksy yet polished look. These glassy, glossy bowls were inspired by "the English washstands and public washing troughs of Tuscany," says their manufacturer. Drawing their names from the locale's varietals, the Merlot, Petit Syrah, Cabernet, Chardonnay, and Zinfandel round VesselSinks ranging from 14-18" in diameter "may be recessed into a counter at any height." Each cast concrete, hand-polished basin is unique.

Colorful Countertops

Though Sonoma offers classic countertops with traditional basins, their bathroom interior design alternatives stand out. Most feature distinctive slot drains. The contemporary, geometric RampSink resembles a Tuscan laundry sink. The TroughSink contains a single oblong basin and fits beautifully over a vanity. The WaveSink, a collaboration between Sonoma and famed architect Robert Zinkhan, was voted "Best New Product of the Year" at the National Kitchen and Bath Show.

Once you see these concrete beauties, available in 40 colors and sizes to fit any interior design for the bathroom, you'll never associate concrete with sidewalks again!
