The Jolie-Pitts Need More Nursery Space
By Dawn Westdawn.west@interiordesignschooreview.com
Let's imagine -- you've been working in L.A. for a few years now, doing some fairly ritzy interior design jobs, but nothing that's yet made its way into In Style Magazine. Then you get a call. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are having a baby -- they need more space. Looks like they want you to be the designer. How sweet would that be? Let me count the ways.
Low Profile for Them, High Profile for You
There are plenty of ways to build a respectable interior design career. Working your way up from smaller projects to substantial interior design jobs, proving time and again that you've got what it takes -- that's a tried and true method. But there's nothing wrong with a short cut. Here's betting that if you did a little interior design job for Brangelina, your interior design career would enjoy a delightful boost. They may try to play things casual, but that doesn't mean you have to!Nothing Like Name Recognition
The interior design biz is like any other -- people like hearing you've worked with people they know. Makes them feel connected to the world, lets them know you're not a phony, whatever it is, they dig it. But the thing is, everyone sort of knows celebrities. Say you did the interior design job on Brad and Angelina's baby suite, and you're connected anywhere. That sure won't do your interior design career any harm. Some folks dream of Brad; some folks dream of Angelina. You could be busy dreaming of the interior design jobs their household has to offer.
