It may seem strange, but spreading the word about other great designers is one of the best things you can do for your career in interior design. There's a time and a place to trumpet your own talent and experience, but recommend other designers for jobs that aren't quite right for you, and you'll be surprised by the payoff for your own interior design career. Here's why.
What goes around comes around. Here are just a few of the reasons your generosity in spreading the good word about other designers will come back to boost your own interior design career.
Good Will for Others with Careers in Interior Design
So, you hear that someone said something genuinely nice about you and you think, hmm, she's not so bad herself. Most likely, you will make sure to say nice things about that kind speaker next time you have a chance. It's exactly the same with designers. Praise other designers' work, and they're more likely to help build your rep too. There's no doubt that this kind of word of mouth will directly help your interior design career as a whole.Designers Need Unbiased Opinions
Speaking up and spreading the word about your own interior design skills and experience is critical. But on a certain level, of course you think you're great. But, when other people think you're great, the opinion takes on credibility and your career in interior design can really take off. Spread the word about others, and they'll do the same for you..If you're eager to boost your career in interior design, see what you can do to boost someone else's. It'll come right back to you. Just remember to praise a designer whose work you truly admire. That way both your integrity and your reputation for great taste will be intact.
