One of the favorite gathering places in any home is the kitchen. A small kitchen can make the time spent there all but intolerable. Here are some interior design ideas to help make your kitchen seem more spacious and inviting.
Interior Design Idea 1: Clutter is Your Space-Eating Enemy
There is nothing like clutter to make any space appear smaller than it is. Avoiding clutter is a key interior design tip no matter what space you are considering. This can be easier said than done. It seems that today there are so many kitchen gadgets and small appliances that are almost impossible to store. One great interior design idea that will get these small appliances off your kitchen counter is to renovate a cupboard. Have large drawers installed in place of shelves to store appliances for easy retrieval.Interior Design Idea 2: Glass is Your Ally
Windows, glass-front cabinets, and mirrors are all wonderful devices for giving a feeling of space. Keep window coverings light and minimal to borrow space from the great outdoors. A little-known interior design idea that is great for kitchens is using glass-front cabinets. This lends that extra couple feet of space to the common area. Another idea is to design the interior of your kitchen so that two mirrored surfaces face one another. This illusion reflects space exponentially.
