If you think of school as a dull place where dry facts are memorized, think again. Enroll yourself in an interior design degree program and you'll have the time of your life. An interior design course is all about colors and light, fabrics and moods. The best news is that when you graduate you'll have one of the most enjoyable careers there is--a career in interior design.

Imagination is King

Many jobs and careers depend on the ability to follow rules and uninteresting formulas. Jobs in interior design depend upon your imagination. In fact, that's why many people decide to pursue an interior design degree. The most exciting jobs in interior design are based on an artistic vision and a really free imagination.

New Things to Learn

Of course, a career in interior design is not like a kindergarten class where wild imagination combined with little knowledge is considered acceptable. There are a wide range of interesting and artistic topics for you to study in an interior design course. Your interior design degree program will introduce you to color theory, the history of furniture and fabrics, and the treatment of different kinds of spaces.

Interior Design is all About the Details

However, it's much more fun to learn about Aubussons, Bessarabians, and Dhurries (all different kinds of beautiful rugs) in an interior design course than to study logarithms, algorithms, and statistical calculus. By the way, in case you were wondering, an Aubusson is a hand-woven French rug with muted colors, a Bessarabian is a flat woven rug with flowers and geometric shapes, and a Dhurrie is from India, also flat, but with muted colors. If you want a brighter Indian rug, look for a Kilim.

Just don't ask me about logarithms, algorithms, and statistical calculus-they don't talk about those things in an interior design course!
