Spring has nearly sprung, and something about the warmer weather and budding trees signals that it's time to start cleaning. Maybe your hoarding instincts went into overdrive during the long, cold winter, or perhaps you haven't finished wrangling the influx of new stuff that the holidays tend to bring. Whatever the reason, chances are you have some clearing out and organizing to do this season. Here are some tips guaranteed to brighten up your interior decorating for spring.
Outfit Your Interior Decorating for Spring
Just as you carefully store your cold weather gear (snow boots, sweaters, heavy coats, and the like) when warmer weather comes, you should do the same with some of your interior design elements. Warm, woolen afghans kept you toasty all winter long, but they don't make good picnic blankets. Store them in airtight bags to keep moths from getting in and chowing down over the summer. Consider switching out accent pieces, too. New throw pillows, bedding, table runners, or placemats can bring spring to live for very little money.Interior Design From the Bounty of the Land
Bring the abundance of spring indoors with bouquets of early-blooming bulbs. Highly fragrant cut flowers like lilacs can perfume a whole room. When the farmers' markets open, buy some colorful, locally grown produce to display artfully. Don't forget to give your dusty houseplants a good wipe-down with a damp cloth, too.If you enjoy experimenting with seasonal interior decorating, consider interior design school. Whether you take a couple of classes or a full course load, you will learn a lot about interior design in the company of people who share your passion for it.
